Painting with rain

The beautiful pictures the rain painted this morning through the bus window, while I was travelling to work in Thamesmead. Definitely not the most beautiful part of London. In fact it is a social experiment from the 1960’s which gone wrong, with several ugly depressive grey estates.

Parallel Histories No3. Two women of current history

Nepali woman in Plumstead

London, Plumstead. The older woman is originally from Nepal, could be easier the wife of a Gurkha – soldiers from Nepal who were fighting for the British army. Many Nepali people live in Plumstead, and most of their restaurants and small businesses here have a reference to Gurkha’s. The younger woman (on the bus) is an actress, I believe an American actress.
